Are you using a plugin for sharing a blog post on Facebook? Yes? What’s the full name of this plugin? Where did you download it from?

Or, is this a feature of your active theme? Yes? What’s the full name of this theme? Where did you download it from?

Yes, I’m using AddToAnny, I installed it on WordPress, I searched for it as a new plugin. But even if I just copy paste the link and try to share it on FB, it changes it into my blog URL.

I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/add-to-any/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

@nikecream is correct that this is a general WordPress site/server troubleshooting issue, not an AddToAny issue, and probably not a Yoast plugin issue either because the meta tags are present.

As mentioned in my post here, Facebook’s scraper is timing out on the site:

    Curl Timeout
The request to scrape the URL timed out.
    Curl Error
    Curl error: 28 (OPERATION_TIMEOUTED)

I recommend temporarily deactivating other plugins (and perhaps web host features) and hitting the Facebook sharing debugger’s “Scrape Again” button to test site changes. That kind of troubleshooting should help pinpoint the root cause of what’s causing Facebook’s scraper to time out on your site.

The larger community here may be able to help you troubleshoot further if needed.

I deactivated all the plugins and this is the message that I get now when scraping: Inferred Property
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    Missing Properties
    The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

Any tips? I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. Thank you very much

You should keep the Yoast and AddToAny plugins enabled, and reenable other plugins one by one until you find the culprit of that error in Facebook’s debugger.

So, the problem seems to be invalid Faceebok app ID.

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nikagrizila.com%2Fi-finished-uni-now-what%2F

    Invalid App ID
The specified ‘fb:app:id’ property is not a valid app ID.
    Curl Error
    Curl error: 28 (OPERATION_TIMEOUTED)

Do you know how to fix it? (I’m so sorry, I just suck at technology)

The Curl Error is the problem you want to troubleshoot. The timeout means your site is too slow to respond to Facebook’s scraper.

You’d remove the Facebook App ID somewhere in Yoast. Leaving it blank is perfectly fine despite Facebook’s “Missing Properties” warning.

I tried deleting the FB ID from Yoast and nothing changed when scraping in FB debugger.

I’ll try deactivating plugin by plugin to see what happens with the curl error.

    Thank you!

Did you happen to locate the issue. I am having the same problem and I cant find out why. I have tried dactivating most of my plugins and deleted cache but nothing happens. Some of my pages I can share without problems while others lack both picture and description or just picture. It is driving me nuts and I dont want to deactivate crucial plugins like safety widgets just to be able to share a page.

EDIT: I think I found the problem with my page. When I deactivate Page Visit Counter then I can share my page on Facebook using a widget. But when posting a link on Facebook I get an error. Nevertheless I am able to share my page by deactivating Page Visit Counter.
