    Hi,

    Nice theme we have here!
Still, I have some issue using categories and the feature tag.
On my menu, I put a link to catergory, so it displays all the posts that belongs to that category, ok, easy.

Weird thing is that I can’t use the tag for feature content to display a post on the home page as slide show and use a category wich is used in my menu.
If I do so, the post don’t show up in the featured content…

Could be great if someone would be able to figure what’s going on.
    Thanx.

I’m not sure I quite understand the issue. Could you provide a link to your site and give me some specifics so I can better understand the problem? Thanks.

    Hi Kathryn,
    Thanks for answering.

Here is a link to a post that has the feature tag so the post would appear on the home page, but it does not appear on the homepage. If I remove the category (creations), it will then appear on the homepage.

Could you try choosing a completely new tag (i.e. a word you haven’t used anywhere before) for your featured content slider, entering that in the Customizer, and then adding that same tag to your post? Let me know if that works.

    No, it doesn’t work.

Could you let me know what word you have set as your featured tag in the Customizer?

    “testtag”

    Thanks for the tag.

I’ve set up a slider without any issues on my Pictorico test site using some of your featured images.

As a next step, I’d suggest ruling out slider interference coming from any theme changes you’ve made.

To do that, you could try temporarily:

    – activating the Pictorico parent theme (instead of the child), and
    – commenting out the custom CSS

With both the child theme and custom CSS inactive, see if the slider works. If the slider still does not work at that point, try temporarily deactivating all your plugins except Jetpack.

Let me know how it goes.

    OMG! I’m so stupid.
I didn’t realise that for a previous theme I had installed a plugin which excludes some categories/page/posts where you need…
    So now, it works perfectly.
    Thanks for your support Kathryn!

No worries – I’m glad you figured out what it was and that things are working now!
