Troubleshooting Featured Images

I’ve been working on a solution to this for a while, but it seems that none of the workarounds that I’ve read through have worked. So I’m desperate. Lol

I’m using the Baskerville theme, and having trouble with the featured image size in posts. It’s either massive, or I resize it and it leaves tons of space to the right. Either way, it looks ridiculous. I’d like to either be able to just delete all featured images from inside the post pages, but leave them on the home page, or find a workaround that will show a cross-section of the image on the post page–something that is neither too tall nor too narrow.
