    Hello,

I am using the translatepress plugin on my WordPress website. Without me modifying anything in the last few months, I got an email recently from my host saying my database size had been reached. Meaning I cannot reach the admin panel of my website (read only), until I reduce the size of the database. Connecting to my database, I saw three tables taking 50% of the size I’m allowed : wp_trp_dictionary_fr_fr_en_gb, wp_trp_original_strings, wp_trp_original_meta. Do you know what happened with these tables, and how I could reduce these tables properly from phpmyadmin please ?

    Thank you !

    Hello,

Just for the record, I was able to reduce the first table (dictionary), by deleting any line that was not transcribed (= ” in translated column). It was reduced from about 12000 lines to 894 lines and everything was fine on my website.
I was able to get back my admin panel access then, and used the plugin options to clean database, just in case.

However, in the meantime, the trp tables in my database keep growing and adding lines with no translation. It went from these 894 lines to 9362 lines in 5 days time, without any actions on the website, which puts pressure on my database size again. I have still no idea why… any idea ?

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Check your tables for duplicates or unusual data such as CDATA.

Please let me know in case your tables are flooded by duplicates.

    Hello Dragos,

Thank you for your answer, I didn’t get notified for it!
I do have duplicates in other tables, since I deleted rows in the trp_dictionary as said above, now I cannot recognize which rows are useless in the other tables…
What I do now is before deleting rows in trp_dictionary, I identify the original_id and delete the same rows in the trp_original_meta table. But I still have one table with too many rows (trp_original_strings I think), I couldn’t understand the link with the others.

The plugin keeps pressure on my database, as it keeps adding lines with no translation, but now it seems to me these are the lines from articles that I don’t need to translate but are present on the website, so I may try to include them in the “do not translate certain paths” and see what happens.

What is very strange is that pressure of adding lines just started last summer, whereas I had used the plugin for more than a year without any mess and flooding of my database…

    Best regards,
