I recently moved (transferred) one of my blogs to a different server. Same environment.

I checked it after the move and all posts, comments, plugins etc seemed to be working perfectly and the site looks as it should https://blog.therealcostarica.com

Today, however, I tried to open a saved draft from the list in the dashboard. It displayed only the title and no content. With a bit of fooling around, I discovered that the HTML, when clicked, displayed ok and when I went back to visual, the content was there. No big deal I thought!

I then proceeded to modify the draft, but when I went to Save Draft, I got a pop-up that said “Do you really want to navigate away from… etc”. If I said no, it took me back to the draft. If I tried again to save, same message. I navigated away and my changes were not saved.

So I tried a new Post.

Upon entering the title, WP did the auto-save thing. It says ” Saving Draft” but never completes! Just hangs.

So I think maybe a DB error! So I restored the entire DB, checked for errors (ran Repair anyway to be sure) and STILL have the same problem.

    Checked the error log… nothing!

I re-Uploaded all WP files as well as the Content and Images from backup.

    Same problem!

I then did a complete re-install of WP. Added back the content and images as well as the config file.

    Nothing… same errors!

In essence, I cannot post nor edit a draft.

Next I wondered if PHP and MySQL were the same releases. They are.

Next, I deleted the entire DB and opened a new DB (same name). I also checked permissions of all users. All good!

I then uploaded the data once again. I checked it and it is fine.

I thenbrowsed the DB directly (phpMyAdmin) and all my drafts/posts are there under the wp-posts table.

I can login to admin. The blog is working fine… so that would indicate WP is talking nice to my DB.

I am at a loss here… Out of options and would love some help.

    Ideas???

    Tim
