Try to login, 550 Error wp-login no such file or directory

  • When I try to login – I am greeted with:

    550 Can’t change directory to /wp-admin: No such file or directory

    I downloaded the latest version of wordpress, and it’s still happening. My website works when you go to it, and I’ve tried multiple browsers. Filezilla is my FTP client. Please, any suggestions would be great.

  • Did you move the wp-admin folder outside of the normal WordPress structure? Or not upload it to the server? Because this error message is your server telling you that the wp-admin folder doesn’t exist.

    I would suggest re-uploading all the WordPress files and folders to the server again (except the wp-config.php file and the wp-content folder) and seeing if that resolves the issue.
