Trying to change username

  • As advised by WP administrators, I tried to change my username and password against the current brute attack thing. Password changed OK, but the Profile page says “Usernames cannot be changed”. What to do?

  • You can’t change the username, but you can work around that.

    You need to create another administration account with a different username, then log into that new account and delete the old administration account. Remember that you’ll want to attribute all posts from the old user ot the new user (there’s an option for that when you delete).
