Trying to customize excerpt in template on Category pages

Hi there,

I’m using a template (taxonomy-event-categories.php) to display my Events category pages so that my theme is uniform. The only issue is that because I’m rendering my page contents using the default loop, for some reason it is outputting a repeat of the event title, date and author along with the excerpt instead of just the excerpt.

I’ve tried to display events using em_events however it displays all events and down’t organize them into categories, which is the desired result.

Is there a template tag I can use to ensure that the preferred output is displayed?
