Trying to decide if something is safe to delete

    This is probably a dumb question but this is my first time trying to clean anything up. I have a list of malicious files that need to be cleaned/deleted. I’ve backed everything up and I downloaded a fresh version of 4.4.2 to compare against. If the file is not listed in the fresh version then it should be safe to delete correct?

    For example one link is wp-admin/css/colors/coffee/options-permalink.php but on the fresh download there is not an options-permalink.php in that directory.

  • Hi,

    Since you have a backup and you are suspicious of the file, go ahead and delete it. If anything breaks, you can always restore form the backup.
