• Simple problem, impossible to do.
I;m working with the Quick Post Widget for front end post uploading, but i cannot find a way to allow users to set a featured image.

Also if anyone knows how to remove/disable the post_content box, that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Same issue for me also.
Considering the lack of response, it must be something so obvious that everyone knows the answer… except us. LOL

Seriously, I’m guessing it may be an issue with the theme we are using. I’ve looked in the coding but I’m not a php expert. Well, I’m not a programming expert in any language.

Another unusual thing is that a new post will not show immediately. It will only show when another post is created. Of course, you don’t see that new post until another is created. ??

Good luck. I hope you finally get an answer.

I noticed while experimenting with this widget that I got the Featured Image if the photo resided on another website and I pasted its URL in the Visual Editor tiny browser. It does not do a Featured Image if I upload my own photo to my site. Have you noticed this?

That’s really interesting, I’m going to try it out now.

Maybe there’s a way to have a way for an imgur API and have it auto post in the visual editor.

Did you paste the URL with an HTML tag? <img src=””>

    or JUST the URL?

No, I did not use an HTML tag. I just pasted the URL (https://&#8230;) into the “Image URL” box, under the “General” tab, of the “Insert/edit image” dialogue box that comes up when you want to add an image in the “Visual Editor”.

Same problem here! Unfortunately your method 65_GP did not work for me :/ it would be perfect if there was a additional upload button to insert a featured image easily. We should suggest that to the author: vanakkeren(AT)live.nl
