I’ve noticed that there are a few sites that I can see in the WordPress App for iOS however, when I login into WordPress.com or the WordPress App for Mac I cannot see them. The purpose for finding them is so that I can remove them. I cannot remove sites in the iOS App. Only from the WordPress App for Mac or WordPress.com

Here are the sites in question:

    bluezone.spidersavvy.xyz
    dev.shieldworks.com
    shabbychicsoaptique.com
    communitysustainabilitylab.org

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi there,

It’s possible that you added those sites to the iOS app by using the Add Self-hosted Site option. The mobile apps allow you to add sites in this way without requiring a Jetpack connection.

You should be able to remove them from the app by tapping Switch Site, and then long-pressing the site you want to remove.

Let me know if this doesn’t work for any of those sites.

    Thank you for your response!

I did check to make sure that the sites in question are were not added manually.

One of the ways I can tell is that the same number of sites (54) show up on WordPress.com, WordPress App for Mac, WordPress App for iOS. However, the sites in question are only visible from the iOS App on both my iPhone and iPad Pro.

    Another observation:

When I go to WordPress.com / WordPress App for Mac I see 54 sites in the top-left corner. However, when I manually count them I come up with 46.

When I manually count the number of sites on iOS (iPhone & iPad) I do indeed count 54 sites and can account for them all.

Okay, it looks like those sites were all connected, but the connections were broken. I’ve disconnected them from WordPress.com now. If they still appear in the app, please try logging out and back in.

    Done.

If you have any suggestions on how to avoid this in future please let me know.

This most likely happened due to the sites not being properly disconnected from Jetpack before they were taken offline. To prevent stuck connections like this, make sure to disconnect first, either from https://wordpress.com/settings/manage-connection/, or from the Jetpack dashboard in WP-Admin.

Sometimes a connection still gets stuck, though, in which case we’re happy to help with it.
