• We were the victim of the Japanese Keyword Hack a few months ago, and in order to restore the site I deleted a bunch of files using filezilla. Consequently, Mailpoet doens’t work.

I can create a duplicate of a newsletter, change the title, but I cannot Save changes. As soon as I add something to the new newsletter (e.g., drag and drop a Divider) then subsequent mouse actions act like the screen is all text, and I can no longer move anything, drag and drop, or enter text.

I deactivated, uninstalled, and reinstalled Mailpoet but that has not repaired the problem.

I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wysija-newsletters so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

On the other hand maybe you didn’t clear everything. Every time I have to clean a website agter hacking I follow those pointers:

    1. Make a backup of files and database
    2. Write down which plugins you use
    3. Delete everything (leave only wp-content/uploads)
    4. Install clean WP – it will be best if you use the same version you used
    5. Install all the plugins – the data is still in DB, so you won’t have configure them again
    6. If you bought a theme – just download it again and install it. If someone made it for you – ask him/her for the latest version.
    7. When everything is done, change user passwords and ftp passwords.
