    Hello
I have been trying to upload a docx file to an active WP site for about 3 days.

I was told I needed to use a plug-in called scib and I have managed to upload it there. How do I now get that uploaded file to appear on the WP site, please?

I am in the Dashboard at the moment.
    Thank you.

    Is this a continuation of https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/uploading-file-2 ?

Which plugin are you using? I can’t find anything called “scib.”

    Hello James

Yes, posted the original message hours ago and didn’t get a reply.

Thanks for getting back to me.

    The plug-in is called scribd.

There is no plugin with that exact name: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search.php?q=scribd

    Do you mean https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/scribd-doc-embedder/ ?

If so, from that page it looks like you can use it two ways:

    [scribd-doc] Shortcode:

Allows you to embed a document that has been uploaded to Scribd.
The Scribd document can be public or private.
Requires both the document ID and the document key:
    [scribd-doc doc="DOCID" key="KEY"]

    [scribd-url] Shortcode:

Allows you to create a Scribd Reader from a publicly accessible URL.
Naturally requires that the document type be supported by Scribd.
Requires both the document URL and your Scribd Publisher API key:
    [scribd-url url="FULL-URL" pubid="YOUR-SCRIBD-PUBLISHER-ID"]

Yes, it was the scribd-doc-embedder that I used and it said ‘successfully’ uploaded after a conversion process. In my browser, and in scribd, it looked just as it should on the WP page.

I made it public because it’s going on the Web site.

Oh, OK, thanks for that, so I need both the document ID and the document key [scribd-doc doc=”DOCID” key=”KEY”]. I will log back in to scribd to try to get them, then.

When I have them, do I then return to the dashboard?

    Thanks for all your research

Yes, you have to return to whatever post/page you put that shortcode in and add those to that shortcode.

OK, thanks again, James for all your patience!
