Hey there!

According to GTmetrix, all my files have a Cache Policy of “none” – even though the following code (this is just a snippet of it) was written into my .htaccess by W3TC:

Neither does this work, when I type in the following code by hand:

</IfModule>
```
However, when I write this into .htaccess, it is mostly recognized:

<filesMatch ".(ico|pdf|flv|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|svg|js|css|swf)$">
    Header set Cache-Control "max-age=84600, public"
</filesMatch>
```
BUT: While this works on .png and .jpg files, this only changes the TTL for .js files I have in my list of “Never minify the following?JS?files”. The minified .js files still have a TTL of “none”.

Can I do anything to fix that? Or does this require a plugin update in the future? Or is it GTmetrix fault and everything works as it should?

Is the option Set Cache-control header enabled in Performance>Browser Cache in the JS&CSS section?

And yes, all “Set cache control header” options are enabled and set to “cache with max-age”.

The .htaccess file looks fine and yes, once I’ve checked the files, the cache-control header and expires header are not set for the JS and CSS files for some reason.
Can you please share which hosting platform you are using and also if you have some .htaccess files in the upper level of the websites folder structure that may be setting different rules?
Also check httpd.conf and see if any rules are set there for static files.

I cannot find any other .htaccess files above the public_html folder.

Neither could I find much relating to static files in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf nor /etc/apache2/sites-available/jadestartupbox.jade-hs.de.conf.

My site is a subdomain of our university hosting structure. I have a virtual server via Virtualmin.

I am starting to think, that only our university data center can help me out as the problem seems to stem from the server configuration?

if the website is a subdomain, there is a chance that those are being handled on the upper level so please check with the hosting provider if this is the case indeed.
