Turn comments back on???

    HELP!!!!

    I turned the comments off and can’t for the life of me find out how to turn them back on again. I’ve followed the instructions I’ve found in here and none of them work, I’m 99.9% certain I did not modify code to do it (I’m not that adventurous) so I’m obviously missing something silly and obvious… I just can’t find it. Please help ??

  • To enable comments on future Pages/Posts, check “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in Settings -> Discussion. Then edit each published Page or Post and check “Allow comments” in each case. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

    Thank you, however the problem I am having is that there is not a “allow comments” check box that I can see? I have looked in the screen options and the only thing I have are…

    Show on screen:
    – Right Now
    – Recent Comments
    – Incoming Links
    – WPlook news
    – QuickPress
    – Recent Drafts
    – Welcome

    Edit a Post and click on Screen Options. You will then see the Discussion checkbox. You will need to do the same for a Page.

    Done that and there still is no “comment” showing on the post. Is there a master on/off someplace other than the “allow comments on new posts”?
