turn off comments on pages

Change the theme to a default WordPress theme and try again. If it does not work, try again after deactivating all plugins.

I have tried that now. Both on a website running on 3.6 and one one 3.6.1 without plugins. Tried several of the WordPress default theme but with the same result. I ask another Dutch friend to try on hers, she uses the default theme and she couldn’t get it done either. i don’t use the default theme myself but have not updated anything that recently and have never had problems with this before.

Now, without changing anything else, edit https://heart-spirit.nl/even-voorstellen/ and uncheck “Allow comments” in each case. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

THe dutch version does not have discussion strangely enough. But I have unchecked allow comments. under screen options. In Dutch that is called reacties. Now there are two boxes for reacties. I hoped the first would be discussion so I have tried it with checking the first box and unchecking the second but that does not work either.

My other site is in English but I just noticed that has not been updated to 3.6 yet so I can’t show it to you with the twenty thirteen theme.

No! You need to leave that checked for now and uncheck “Allow comments”.

I am not sure I understand you. You are saying leave it checked but uncheck. Are there two seperate places I can uncheck?

I am sorry this was making me really nervous. I have found it now. I had not used this option for a while and I forgot a piece of the puzzle. Thank you very much! It works again.
