turn off comments on pages

Good morning,

Since a couple of days I am unable to turn off comments on pages. I always do it per page through screen options, turning on discussions and turning comments off. but since a couple of days this doesn’t work anymore. Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong. I do not know HTML so I can’t do it that way. Is there any other way to turn comments off on pages but not on posts?
