Turn off moderation feature?

  • I’m looking for a SIMPLE method of allowing people to post comments without their having to wait for me to approve it. They write their comments, and it’s instantly published – no waiting. I am not running any special modules or plug ins – basically WordPress as is out of the box after downloading it. Using Letterhead 1.0 skin. Is this type of hands off approach to comments feasible?

    I did search for this information, but only found results relevant to specific plug-in modules, none of which I am using.

  • In you WP-Admin area -> Options -> Discussion.
    Three blocks down there’s a check box with “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)” … clear it.

    Got it, thank you. I had had that option unchecked, but after looking at the other checkboxes, I noticed an additional one that stated that it had to be someone who had already posted.
