• Hi all,
1st I want to say that I made 4 WP sites with Customizr theme and I already dug-up a million answers through this forum. Thank you for that!

Now my problem is that I can’t turn off the right side bar on my homepage https://www.bramkoning.nl
I tried deleting all the widgets in it, and even make an option “No Sidebars – Full width

    any suggestions?

  • Hi look1st,

    Which theme do you have?
Looks like the search widget might have been hard-coded into the front-page template.
If that’s the case you would need to manually remove it by digging into the PHP code.
If I know, which theme you’re using, I can try to help further.

    Hi kunstwerck,
    thx for replying so fast.
The theme I use is Customizr -Child, and I don’t think its coded into because I can remove the search widget but the bar (space) stays.
And if I go to the page options and choose one of the other 4 layout options
    1) standard left
    2) Right bar
    3) Left bar
    4) two bars (left and right)
or 5) No bar, full width
    to have as bar…nothing happens.

    Hi look1st,

Assuming that you’re using the latest version of Customizr, I might have found a solution.

    1. Log in to your site and exit the WP-Dashboard so that you’re looking at your page again.
    2. Hover (don’t click) over your site name on the top left corner of the black WordPress Admin Bar and wait until you see the drop-down menu –> choose Customize
    3. Select the item: Content: home, posts, ...
    4. Then select: Front Page
    5. Then use the drop-down menu under: Set up the front page layout
    6. In the drop-down select: No sidebars : full width layout

This should solve your issues, if not – then you might have changed something when creating the child theme. If latter is not the case either, I suggest you contact the theme author.

Best of luck and good luck with your nice site!
