Tutorial how to connect your WP blog with facebook

I tried to embed the code offered by facebook for facebook users. I copied it /widgets/text/, to have it appear in the right sidebar. However when clicking on it it says “error”. So I’m looking for a tutorial how to successfully do this. Thanks for any help!
