Tweaking Category Specific RSS Menu

Hi, I have this plugin I like. It gives you a short code you can place anywhere in your post that will display category, number of posts and a subscribe link to the rss feed of that category.

I love it but the thing that is killing me is it lists every category. I will have hundreds of categories so it’s not really workable. I’m wondering if there is any way to tweak it so that it will pull the category of the post and display that categories info only. I tried the plugin author but not getting a response so I thought I’d try here as I have very little working knowledge of php.
