Tweaking Sidebar elements

Hello all. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Am using the Flexi-Blue theme for my site. Have managed to figure out how to change colors and a few other things but I don’t like the two column sidebar. In sidebar.php it looks like the far R column is the first one defined. The L sidebar column comes after (makes zero sense, but whatever). Basically, I just want a single column sidebar.

Can I just cut and paste the sidebox elements in the order I want them to appear in? That means that the second section just goes away????, or the first???

Speaking of order, the section that shows all the categories…it appears that the categories appear in alphabetical order. Is there a way I can override this so that I determine which order categories and their child links appear in?
