• I’m using the More quicktag to jump from an introductory paragraph on an index page, to a single page with a full entry. Is there something I can do to make the jump go to the top of the target page, rather than to somewhere in the middle?

  • No..but…when they click on ‘more’ the text they have not yet read is displayed while the text they have read is higher- makes it easier to read.
That said, this may or may not be useful but it’s worth a look:

“This one was written to help out Nuclearmoose, and extends the ‘more’ tag.

    Description:

When the < ! — more –> tag is clicked on, to display a full post, the text that was on the front page is enclosed in its own div, that you can then style to show your readers what text has already been displayed.”

Actually, there is something you can do about this. I found it annoying that WP inserted a bookmark into the full-post page, so I removed that function on the template-functions-post.php page.

Do a search for “#” in that page and delete “#more-$id”.

I’m having trouble displaying the code here. When I hit “Post,” my code examples were rendered as HTML and so there were fake links in my comment. If you want more detail, I wrote about it here:

Comment with any questions. I hope that helps.
