• A view weeks ago X (Twitter) changed their domain twitter.com to X.com since then all tweets with the link https://x.com/ are not longer recognized from the editor as tweets. You have to manually change the x to twitter to get the old functionality in the editor back.

  • The service is still at https://twitter.com/. The domain x.com actually forwards to twitter.com (click on your own link to see this), so changing the domain name in your embed URL really doesn’t serve any purpose.

I tried embedding both a single post and a profile timeline, and they both worked — both in the block editor and on the public website. I can also see the tweets embedded in your posts, and they all have twitter.com domain.

Can you provide a post where the problem exists so I can take a look?

Here is an example of the problem with a tweet from my X-account.

As far as I understand the problem, before you copied a Twitter tweet link into your article and the system recognized it as a tweet and then the link was automatically embedded in a div and iframe tag in the visual editor and the published article. Now with a X tweet link this is broken.

Three months und some wordpress updates later and this simple but annoying problem ist still not resolved. I still have to manualy change https://x.com/ to https://twitter.com/ to make the integration of tweets work.
