Tweets not caching

Thank you for this great plugin!
Everything is running like magic, except for caching. Often the plugin widget works like a charm, but sometimes it doesn’t load any tweets. In the beginning, the plugin used to just show earlier tweets. The settings in the back show that caching is on (“no cached tweets found and caching is ON”, yet no caching is happening and the widget returns no tweets found. I know the API has a limit of calls per hour, so I’m guessing this is only a problem when we reach those limits. Again, this happens unpredictably, so there is no guarantee that you will see the absence of a cache when you load the page if the tweets are loading. Any help will be really appreciated. I promise I have researched this problem for days before asking here and have come up empty handed.
