tweets won't load

Same here, must have happened in the past couple weeks. Does the plugin-author have an idea?

We also had trouble getting this to work, on a recent install. It was working on another site running WP v3.9, so I presumed it was due to changes in v4/4.1.

I read some older forum posts about checking “Do not use search API for screen names” on the Advanced-tab for the plugin, and that seems to have helped our site at least, as tweets are showing now.

Although it’s still a bit hit and miss, sometimes it works, sometimes it shows no results even if Twitter has tweets, and sometimes we’re getting “Undefined property” errors.
