twenty eleven edit help

if you haven’t already, please start by creating a child theme to make the edits with https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes

then, in content.php, change this line:

<?php if ( is_search() ) : // Only display Excerpts for Search ?>

into:

<?php if ( is_search() || is_home() || is_archive() ) : // Only display Excerpts for Search ?>

great thank you. the only problem is now that im using a child theme most of my 2011 appearance settings did not get carried over. is there anyway to fix that?
