Twenty Eleven – remove margin top of page?

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

Create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

It is a child theme, I’ve copied twenty eleven and changed the folder name.

I’ve put:

html{
margin:0;
}

in style.css, but it still doesn’t fix it.

that margin is from the adminbar – change where it shows by going to:
dashboard -> users -> your profile

I am facing the some problem. I cant find where it shows on the page you mentioned. dashboard -> users -> your profile. Could you give me more details? It will be appreciated.

I tried both. But both are not working for me. After I unticked the toolbar. there is no the line margin-top: 28px; in the firebug. But the space is still on the top.

I added

html {
margin-top: -28px
}

it is working. the space disappeared.

Sorry. It is only working for Chrome not for firefox and IE.

a word of warning:
do not edit Twenty Eleven directly, but create a child theme to work with https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes – an unedited default theme is needed in case of problems with your site; a child theme also helps to keep customisations during an upgrade of Twenty Eleven.
