I updated to the latest wordpress update, and then I updated to the latest twenty fifteen update. And I got a blank web page. The only way to fix it was switch to a different theme and as soon as I did that the twenty fifteen theme disappeared from my list of installed themes and reappeared in “Broken themes” with description “stylesheet missing”. My web host has informed me this is because twenty fifteen is not yet supported by the latest wordpress update.

For a short time today, during the update, one of our webservers had an incomplete copy of the Twenty Fifteen theme. If you downloaded in that particular 30 minute span, and happened to get that bad file, then it broke your theme. Sorry about that.

I’ve updated the ZIP files on the servers and double-checked every theme released today to ensure that all the ZIP files are now fixed.

You can delete your bad copy of the Twenty Fifteen theme and simply re-install it through the Appearance menu.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience. It should have only affected a very small number of users.

Thank you. I had a feeling the web host support guy didn’t know what he was talking about. I even asked him if I should delete the theme and reinstall the theme and he just said that I should wait for a supported version of twenty fifteen to come out. HostGator support seems to be slipping recently.

    Thanks for your knowledgeable support!

No problem. Again, sorry for the issue. Let me know if you have any further troubles with this and I’ll take a closer look.

I am so lucky to have seen this forum at the final minute of my sorrow, after 3 days of blank website and talking to to the hostgator guys who asked me to pay USD15 to restore all – and no guarantee. Thanks to SAMUEL OF WORDPRESS!
