Twenty Fourteen Footer ends up halfway down the home page

    Hi,
    I could not successfully widen screen for editing, so used tables within tables to force the width I needed during editing, Used child theme to widen display.
    It was working more or less fine until suddenly the above footer in the middle occurred and I could not find how to correct it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I would start over and remove all of the table formatting you were trying to use to manage the width.
    Minimize use of tables for formatting of the page text.
    If you are not familiar with making the changes using CSS or modifying templates to get the look need-try a different theme that might have theme options built in for varying the width of pages.

    One theme I have used use that offers width control in the customizer options is Symphony (in www.ads-software.com)
