Twenty Fourteen – Help!

I am editing the Twenty Fourteen theme. I have already created a child theme. I am using the slider function (and not the grid). I am OK with adding the tags for the images to be featured on the slider, I have also removed the left and right arrows from the right hand side.

My issue is with the botton left hand side of the slider, the rectangle that cuts in to the slides to tell you the name of the slide/ post that is showing. I need to remove this and have tried everything! Any ideas, which part of the css do I need to edit.

This is driving me crazy, would really appreciate some help. : )
