twenty-seventeen featured image behaviour

Hi all,

i really like this theme and the way the featured images scroll between sections of the homepage (i think what i’m referring to is the parallax animation)

i’ve been however looking for a way to reduce the height that the featured images takes between section. At the moment it’s taking the whole screen (not the case on mobile) which gives the impression that one has reached the bottom of the page.

I’ve tried using

.single-featured-image-header {
  height: 500px;
}

without success. Can you help?
