Twenty Seventeen no longer shrinking featured image on posts

  • Twenty Seventeen has been working great.
    Tonight, though, if I add a featured image to a Post, the full size photo shows up as the featured image of the post… open the post and the image is the same size.
    what did I do and how can I fix it?

  • Could you please demonstrate the issue by providing a link to the site URL with this issue?

    I do not see this issue on installs I work on.

    My mistake. I didn’t realize that with horizontal photos, usually 1024 at least, the Post cuts them down to featured images you can click on to get to the full post. If you use a vertical image, especially if it happens to be less than huge, it just puts the entire image size in as featured so that when you click into the post the image is the same size instead of expanding to full size (because it already is),
    I’ll have to find a whole bunch of large horizontal images!
