    Hi,

I have an issue with my pictures gallery since I updated WordPress to 6.0.

All my image galleries went funny, the are reduced to just one picture width even if they look fine on the editor. I don’t want to download a plugin just to fix this problem because this is just a basic task that WordPress should be able to do with a standars theme like Twenty Seventeen.
You can see the problem here: https://www.aliensoundworks.com

This is not looking good at all and I need to fix this problem asap. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @aliensoundworks when I added the Gallery Block to my site using the Twenty Seventeen theme I could replicate the issue you are having.

However, I changed the image size for the gallery block from Large to Medium and then back to Large as shown in this video.

The images within the gallery were then displayed properly on the front end. I am not sure what could be causing this at the moment but can you please try changing the image size as well ?

Let me know how that goes?

    Hi @thelmachido

Thank you very much for the reply. I did exactly what is showed on the video and unfortunately this didn’t change anything. I poke every here and there and recreated many galleries from scratch and none of them showed up with the correct width.

I just want a 4 pictures width as the preview is showing but it never worked…

Hi @thelmachido I checked on my site again and the gallery is looking as it should as shown here, it could have been caching when I checked earlier. Right now can you please check the following things on your site:

    1. Is everything up to date on your site, if you have to update make sure you keep a backup of your site beforehand.
    2. Can you please temporarily deactivate all plugins + change to another default theme in case this might be a theme or plugin conflict, you can use the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot

    Hi?@thelmachido
Thank you very much for the reply.
I checked (1) and (2) and when I changed to another theme (Twenty Twenty-Three) I found that the gallery was displaying fine. I discovered that my child theme was corrupted.
The child theme created by the “child Theme Configurator” plugin was the origin of the problem. I tried another plugin called “Child Theme Wizard” and I had an offset display problem. Then I changed to another plugin called “Child Theme Creator by Orbisius” and this one is not altering anything so far.
Thank you for your assistance, it forced me to go through and solve the problem.

Hi @aliensoundworks thank you for providing an update, I am glad you managed to sort this out.
