Twenty Sixteen – Remove Author

Resolved. Added the following to the child style.css

.meta-sep {
display:none;
}

.vcard{
display:none;
}

.author{
display:none;
}

Using:

.vcard{
display:none;
}

in a child theme works for hiding the author name and avatar. Note that it also hides the author name on the author archive pages.

See “No author page?” regarding an issue with using .author to hide the author name and avatar in that this method also hides everything on an author’s archive page.
