    Hello,

on short posts I notice the footer only follows up to where the content in the sidebar ends. This means that short posts will have unusually long empty spaces between the content and the footer. If the content is long (like on the front page) then the content will continue further than the content on the sidebar, thus keeping the regular distance to the footer as set in the CSS.

How can I make the footer ignore the distance to the content on the right sidebar? I want the footer to adapt its distance to the content in the post, not the sidebar.

    Thanks

  • Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme. Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Well, I’m using a child theme—so please do help.

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

It’s a regular Twenty Ten theme. You can take a look here:

    https://2010dev.wordpress.com/2010/06/

The footer stops where the content on the right sidebar ends.

I want it to pass it and go upwards and adjust itself to the content in the post.

I know what it looks like, thank you but if you are using a child theme, then we need to see your child theme on your site.

The content on the site is currently private, the template is exactly like the one I showed you though. If you you can offer a solution it will work for me as well.

So I offered you a link like you said, and now I will of course not receive any more help. If you’re going to help, help—don’t obfuscate the thread with totally irrelevant questions and conditions for me to put up with. I was crystal clear from the start, all you’ve done is state the obvious instead of giving me any actual help. Thanks for nothing, your help is a waste of time.

we need to see your child theme on your site.

Oh – and incidentally, I do have this need work, sleep & eat. I help out here in my spare time. So sometimes, you just have to try and exercise a little patience.

You can’t see my child theme because my posts are currently private. Is it so hard for you to accept the fact that the link I gave you is exactly like my child theme? Can you comprehend the fact that I just copied the files from Twenty Ten and made absolutely no changes to them? Stop stalling, you’re only wasting time for both of us.
