Twenty Twelve: Excluding posts from one category on homepage

I’m working on a site with a homepage that displays posts from all categories. However, I don’t want one category id, in this case 14, to not have their posts display on the homepage. Only on its own category archive page. Used to be you could exclude a category by using query_posts in your template, but it seems things have changed in Twenty Twelve. How would I do it now?
