• Can the Twenty Twelve Side bar be removed in it’s entirety? If so, would my content then be centered?

  • On the Appearance->Widgets page in your dashboard area, you can remove any widgets that are in the “Main Sidebar” pod. If there are no widgets in this pod then the sidebar will not be visible. The main content on your page will then adjust accordingly. Let me know if this helps.

I originally tried removing the widgets (have done this before on my blog) but they kept popping back on the sidebar. I moved them down to the area where you deactivate them – don’t know whether I should have deleted them …. didn’t want to risk that so luckily I came upon another way to solve this. When you create a new page (or even after – you can go and do this) – ‘ADD NEW PAGE’ has a type of sidebar of its own and there I spotted ‘Template’ – pressed down arrow – and it opened the option I was looking for ‘FULL WIDTH PAGE TEMPLATE NO SIDEBAR’ and ‘FRONTPAGE TEMPLATE’ seems to do pretty much the same thing. It’s perfect. The only problem is my login disappeared so now I login as admin ‘manually’. Thanks for your help Siobhan – and please let me know if what I have done is sound and won’t crash later
