TwentyEleven access from Mobile Phone

When accessing web site (cccameraclub.org), which is based on TwentyEleven, the format is compressed on initial entry when using iPhone. Once a menu selection on the site is made, the theme seems to recognize the iPhone and the format is quite readable. Can you help me understand what is happing on initial entry.

I do not have these issues when accessing from my laptop or iPad
