    Hi all,

    Which plugin shall I add for creating Twentyeleven child theme?

    In the past I have to perform following steps;
    1. create ~/theme/twentyeleven-child folder/directory
    2. create a new style.css
    3. modify functions.php header.php index.php
    etc.

    It took me sometime to finish. I just looked at the plugins and found several child-theme plugin. I’m uncertain which of them shall I add.

    Please help. Thanks

    Regards

    Hi,

    Thanks for your link.

    I have been running those steps for years. It works for me without problem. I’m now looking whether this is a new way to do it?

    JMHO, but if you already know how to create a child theme and are comfortable with the required steps, you aren’t going to see a lot of benefits with a plugin.

    Child Theme Configurator works well for me.

    Hi aCstudent,

    Thanks. I’ll try your recommendation later.

    Even though the old steps in creating child theme work for me seamlessly for years. But it took me lengthy time to complete, the steps including;
    – creating child theme folder
    – creating a new style.css
    – modifying functions.php, headers.php etc.
    – activating child theme
    etc.

    A few days before I tried to check whether there is a new way (new technology) creating child theme after more than 10 years running the same method. On “add new plugin”/search I found several suggestion there. Then I started posting for advice.

    I’ll come back after testing your suggestion.

    Regards
