• I have set up a Featured-Image to replace the header image on a certain page (PAGE X). Works fine. If I change Settings>Reading>Posts Page = PAGE X, it causes my featured image not be shown (defaults back to template header image). HELP!

  • start by creating a child theme of the default theme Twenty Eleven; https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes

    do not edit the default theme Twenty Eleven directly, as it is needed in case of problems.

    once the child theme is active, someone should be able to help with your question.

    Alchymyth,
    Thanks, I already have a child theme set up.

    ok, you need to edit a section in header.php;

    details see pastebin https://pastebin.com/CkfkPxAU

    ok i don’t really have any idea what i’m doing here, but i first went to the link about how to set up child themes. I did the simple style.css just to see if it would work and it did.

    so then i copied all of twentyeleven header.php, edited it in notepad, saved it with my child theme, renamed the child theme, and uploaded it again.

    and everything broke. what am i doing wrong?

    all i want is to use a specific header image on the page that is holding my posts. it seems so easy. but it doesn’t work.
