Twentyeleven – multiple tags by Bing analyser

  • Hi,

    According to Bing analyser I have multiple h1 tags on my page.

    the first is the site-title
    and the second is the entry-title

    Bing does not rank my site, so I think I have to change this.

    I use the twentyeleven theme.
    Do I have to create a child-theme to change the entry-title to an h2 tag?

  • Various people have reported this same thing — and it’s really not a problem – though you will find various opinions on the subject. Do some further research about h tags and SEO. It’s also not a simple task to recode a theme – which is what would be required.

    EDIT – I just noticed that you posted in that thread. Unless you know HTML and PHP and CSS, trying to changes that code won’t be simple.

    I don’t understand: could this error in the Bing analyser be the reason why my site does not rank well on Bing?

    I have no idea – having zero information about your site. But there are MANY factors that affect SEO and ranking. You would need to look at all the various factors and take into account that there is probably no single “reason” why your site is not ranking well.
