Twentyten: comments not displaying after update to 5.5

After update to WP 5.5 comments at the end of posts are not longer displayed. They exist on the database, in the WP administrator environment and they are even counted correctly and the correct number of comments (see “4 Antworten” at the end of the cited post https://www.nz2go.de/neuseeland-in-zeiten-des-coronavirus/) is displayed as the header for the comment section at the end of posts – but then the comments are not listed underneath.
Advice would be appreciated … and I know, Twentyten is very old and I am planning to migrate elsewhere, but for the time being help with resolving this problem would be very useful. Thank you!
