    Hi,

I am embarrassed to say that I read codex and other how to several times and followed them to create a child theme in twentythirteen. After uploading the child folder under the themes folder. I get a theme broken– stylesheet missing message.

    Here is the website: https://www.helpfixthehurt.org/wordpress
I know it’s there and have double checked everything. Even reinstalled version 3.6.1.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

I deserved that scolding. I am volunteering for this nonprofit and their new site design is time critical for publicity coming up.

At any rate, I figured it out. The child theme style sheet has to be named “style.css” not something else for it to show up in the Managed Themes.

A two second answer that may help someone else making the same mistake.
