• Hiya,

This was working for us earlier in the year, but Twitter posting stopped working, and it turns out our App was suspended for violating Twitter’s terms and policies. We haven’t even used it since March, so it’s not for spam. I read through the documentation as best I could (they don’t give you any more info about the violation) and I don’t see anything obvious, so I wonder if it might be something has changed with the API.

I don’t even know where to look to find out what violation they’re talking about.

  • You can appeal to the twitter help desk as instructed at
    https://developer.twitter.com/en/support/twitter-api/policy#faq-app-suspension
Also API changes at twitter are random and unpredictable at some times so we are also not sure about the suspension of the app! Meantime you can use the smapsolutions free trial.(we are not encouraging to go for pro since we are not sure about the availability of our twitter app which is under their pending list for elevated access). You can also try to create a project and add a new production app to the project.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks…unfortunately that link just takes me to an FAQ type page, which I have already read, and I’m completely in the dark as to what policy they think we violated. (We haven’t even been using it, as mentioned, which is why I wondered if it was SMAP itself.)

The appeal links I found only go to how to appeal a suspended account, not a suspended developer app. No such link for that. I realize Twitter is a mess right now, just wondered if you knew of existing issues with the plugin.

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem and no way to contact Twitter as a developer for a suspended app?

Do you know if someone else has any solution to provide?

    Thanks a lot!

Did you tried to create a new project and add a new app to it?
The only way to contact twitter is https://twittercommunity.com/ but twitter staffs not really responding as they used to do earlier.
We have removed our other apps and keeping 1 app under 1 project as instructed for basic tier and applied for elevated access for v2 endpoint at https://developer.twitter.com/en/products/twitter-api/elevated-waitlist .

    Reference : https://developer.twitter.com/en

I removed and created a new app but now I have this error message :

    statuses/update : {“errors”:[{“message”:”You currently have Essential access which includes access to Twitter API v2 endpoints only. If you need access to this endpoint, you’ll need to apply for Elevated access via the Developer Portal. You can learn more here: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/getting-started/about-twitter-api#v2-access-leve”,”code”:453}]}

You can no longer use Social Media Auto Publish with Twitter if you have a free developer account. You need to pay Twitter $100 (!) a month to use it.

    Blah!

Very strange because everything works fine on another blog with the same plugin and same parameters?

It’s probably just a matter of time.
Was banned from two different accounts, and also from the new ones I’ve created. I’ve been informed that free developer accounts cannot be used…

    Same here, applications banned
