Twitter bootstrap theme development

Hi

I’m fairly new to wordpress especially theme development. I’ve made a couple of basic themes from scratch using twitter bootstrap as it is my preferred framework for responsive sites. I am now considering better methods to develop themes including using Genesis, however what I cant get my head around is being able to design page templates using bootstrap any other way than doing it from scratch.

I quite like the idea of the robust build of genesis and all that it offers but from what I can see building a child theme simply means restyling existing templates.

I’ve spent that long looking for ways of integrating both bootstrap and something like genesis that I’m probably missing something obvious so I seek advice please. Can I build bootstrap responsive templates in child themes using a theme framework such as genesis?
