Is there a way to have the twitter share pull and post the image when it tweets? Right now all it does is pull the web address. (like it does with Pinterest and Facebook)

Also, on the linkedin, when trying to post it always says “We’re sorry. Something unexpected happened and your request could not be completed. Please close this window and try again.” and it just doesn’t work.

oh, and on the twitter, the address is so long that it often goes over the character limit that Twitter allows for a tweet.

Did a different implementation of linkedin and it works now (at least on my dev site).

I heard recently that twitter is soon changing its policy so that urls bo longer count in the 140 chars, so this should fix itsself in the near future.

It works in the current dev version: 6-4-18-002 ( If the page loads quick enough to the twitter and linkedin crawlers… )

yes that is better now… on linkedin especially.

On the twitter, is there a way to get rid of the prefix? for a few reasons 1. it is redundant becuase the image link will take them there and 2. Because i have an apostrophe in the name and it translates it as ' and 3. Because its just so long and uses up characters.

Here is the prefix it adds to my twitter shares: “See this image on Oishei Children's Hospital Mosaic:”

it translates my apostrophe as “& # 039;” on my twitter posts.

coudnt we have the image url becoem some shortened version when its shared? woudl encrypting my url’s in wppa tick box shorten them and solve this?

I think with twitter, the most useful way the WPPA gallery can share is to just post the image url (and shorter one if possible) and not add any of the extra descriptions after it or any of the “see this image on…” before it.

so designing it to omit everything but the image url would be best, then a poster can add their own message to the twitter post?

Ok, I will remove any redundant data from the twitter version.

Ok thanks, will that be in the development version?

Yes, i will inform you when it is available.
It will also be in the next release, but i do not want to release more official updates than approx one a week, unless there is an urgent fix.

Dev verssion 6-4-18-003 is now available. Th ‘cost’ in tweet chars is now only the https://www.mysite.com/ part of the the full url. The querystring does not count. The additional pre-defined text in the tweet is gone, but the subtext ( See this image on… ) is still there, if i leave it out, the photo does not get posted. In the subtext, the apostrophe works correct.

    it doesnt work.

now when doign twitter it doesnt show the image

it needs to show the image when it posts and the description along with the image part when it posts.

    (@johnny-mosaic)

what i am saying is it only posts the url now, and no image. It would need to post the image and , of course, the info under the image.

here is the screenshot of how it was posting with image and image name and description below it – and the top one is how it is now, with no image and no image description blow image. https://www.heartdoodle.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/twitter-wppa.jpg
