Just WP Admin will do. ??

    okay, sent.

Same issue for me on one of the sites I just tried your most useful plugin on. Site still running WordPress 3.4.2. Only the Twitter link opens twice the other only open once.

So, I disabled the load Pop-up JS for now and the twitter feed only opens once. The others (Facebook and Google+) open new full size windows, unlike the twitter one which opens a small pop-over window. Mac Safari browser and Firefox both act the same.

Not sure if any of this helps, but saw this post and thought I would chime in. Let me know if there is any fix and I will update to get the pop-up benefit for all three.

FYI, different site running WordPress 3.8 does not have any issue with the double twitter pop-up.

    Cheers.

Thanks! That helps a lot – will try replicating it.

Since you disabled the pop-up JS and the twitter pop-up still opens in a new window, some other plugin is most likely conflicting. Do you have any other social (or Twitter related) plugin running?

No other social sharing or twitter related plugins active. Only other one still installed is Flare, which is inactive.

Ok, that’s really strange then but I’ll hopefully figure it out. Thanks again! Will let both of you know what I find.

Are any of you using a Google Analytics plugin, adding events to the social sharing links?

I am using the Google Analytics plugin for WordPress, but I am unsure about the events. I know it tracks things like clicks out and which author has posted, but not sure about the sharing links. I will try and disable this plugin now and let you know if it makes any difference.

no change after disabling that plugin

    Hi searchbuzz,

For you I think I tracked the bug down to a problem with your CDN. I don’t want to mess with it but have a look at this file and note the strange characters that shouldn’t be there. Seems to be a charset / encoding issue.

Easiest fix I can think of is just to disable the Pop-up JS until you have figured it out. Sorry.

I am okay with that. Full screeners get a nice click through rate as long as they load quickly so its all good.

    Hi Danny,

Yes, I have the Google Analytics plugin installed and active.

Only items checked in configuration are: ?
Track outbound clicks & downloads: ?
Extensions of files to track as downloads: doc, exe,js,pdf, ppt, tgz, zip, xls
Tag links in RSS feed with campaign variables: ?
Add tracking to the comment forms: ?

It really is not big a deal to me as disabling the Pop-up JS is a fine fix for now. I have many plugins (over 20) active with that site, so nailing it down may be tough. I will try disabling the Analytics plugin and let you know how that works.

Deactivated Google Analytics plugin and turned on the Pop-up JS in your plugin and have the same issue.

Again, do not spend too much time on my account trying to find it. I really just wanted you to know someone else was having a similar issue to the Original poster.

    Cheers

Do you have a CDN Spence?

The plugin works fine without the pop-up JS by the way for me. Only loading one twitter window.

    (@dvankooten)

Thanks both – glad disabling the JS works for you.

The last update (1.0.6) fixes an issue that might occur when using a Google Analytics plugin but from the sounds of it that wasn’t the issue for you.

It’s a little hard to replicate the issue for me. Searchbuzz provided me with access to his WP Admin which was really helpful but with over 20 different plugins running (and some on older versions) there’s not that much I can do without spending hours..
