Twitter Share button adds an extra ‘@’ character

  • Great theme – I have just one niggling problem that I would appreciate help with.
    When I click on the + Share to Twitter icon on my site (I’m using Hueman), I get the usual pop-window for sharing but the text “via @@MyTwitterAccount” adds two @s, i.e. an extra ‘AT’ character to my Twitter handle. Can’t figure out where I can change this.

    I had taken a look at demo site.

    The twitter button does not produce extra @

    Please take a look at your setting.
    Appearance -> Customize -> Global settings -> Social links
    Find the setting -> Twitter Username (without “@”)
    Check whether you had entered @ in your input. You will need to remove it.

    Dear Denzel, cheers for taking a look.
    I’ve tried follow your directions –
    Appearance > Customize > then there’s no ‘Global settings’.
    If follow this path I can get to the ‘Social Links’:
    Appearance > Theme Options > Social Links…
    However, the options there are:
    Title: Twitter
    Icon name: fa-twitter Font [Awesome icon names]
    Link: https://www.twitter.com/mytwitterhandlewithno@ [Enter the full url for your icon button]
    Icon color
    Link options.
    So there’s nowhere to add the Twitter username, only the full url for Twitter.
    I’m stuck – do you have any other suggestions? Thanks a lot, A~

    You mentioned Appearance -> Theme Options
    This means you are using an old version of Hueman theme.
    The Theme Author is not supporting old versions anymore.

    The current version is 3.2.10

    You can backup your existing theme and if you are using a child theme, you will need to backup that too.

    Update to current Hueman theme and refer to the following documentation for more details.

    You will also need to install this plugin. All social function has been moved into this plugin. It’s working properly on theme demo site and does not have the double @ issue.

    If you have custom codes in your child theme, they may not work with current theme version, you will need to redo your customizations.
