Twitter share counts still not displaying

  • I got an SSS error msg suggesting that I sign up with OpenShareCount, which I did. But when I went to my site to see if Twitter share counts would display, they do not. They have not displayed for many months. Is there anything further than simply signing up at OSC that I have to do to get this working?

    Does the OSC site require some time before a new account & domain are functioning properly on my site? UPDATE: I just checked the OSC site & it says to wait 1 hour before the share count displays. So I’ll update this if it starts working after that time.

    I have also cleared my browser cache and my site’s cache. Still no Twitter share count.

    UPDATE: The Twitter share count now works. It took several hours. But they now display.

    There is definitely some delay before Twitter shares will show up. And it all depends on the service OpenShareCount.
    As mentioned in the notification appearing after updating the plugin, you just need to sign up with OpenShareCount and wait.

    The Twitter share counts are once again not displaying on my site. Any thoughts on how to correct this?

    Seems the other service OpenShareCount is down too. For now there isn’t any other 3rd party service that offers a way to fetch Twitter shares via an API. Sorry, can’t do anything about it, at the moment.

    I noticed that about Openshare and thought that might be the cause.

    I see that Twitcount offers a similar service which works with jetpack and other platforms. Any chance of connecting with it?
